Lol wouldn't consider filling stadiums as a criterion for creating good music. Agree to disagree I suppose. In regards to Mad Season, I actually have been wanting to check that album out for a while. I'll probably get to it sometime soon while I finish up a few more albums from the 90s. Trying to work back chronologically. Started with the 00s since 10s aren't finished. 80s is next in line lol.
You liked Blood Mountain more than I thought you would lol. It's the sort of transition album from the more sludgy punk oriented sound of Leviathan, to the more psychedelic progressive oriented sound of Crack the Skye. I love about half of Blood Mountain, but there are a few spectacularly bad tracks (Bladecatcher mostly, but also Colony of Birchmen). The vocals are also the worst on that album of any of theirs IMO. I still have it at 4 stars as I like it quite a bit despite those flaws, just surprised at you liking it as much as you did haha.
The Sword are a band I had heard several songs of but never a full album. They're a decent stoner band with some really sweet riffs. My only issue is that they're incredibly derivative and unoriginal like most Stoner Metal. Usually I don't buy into the "these guys did it first and are therefore better" mentality, but in Stoner Metal I've found it to be true, with the pioneers (Melvins, Sleep, Kyuss, Electric Wizard) being easily the best that the genre has to offer.
Actually saw that and planned to check it out soon, mainly just since I need stuff from 2010's. I don't expect to enjoy Bloodbath as much as you, but they could surprise me. Two of my favorite Death Metal guys were in the band after all (Akerfeldt and Swano).
Neurosis - Through Silver in Blood The Cure - Disintegration Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Let Love In Portishead - Third = I saw you rated Dummy pretty favorably, but this sounds nothing like that album. Very experimental combining Rock with various forms of electronic. Bjork - Homogenic
I grabbed a few of my 5 stars that I thought could be something you'd really dig, but admittedly, it's pretty hard to get a gauge on what you'll enjoy at this point, so I'll have to do some experimenting with my recs lol. Tried not to pick anything too crazy or challenging, but none of those are close to being "safe" picks.
Only 3.5 for the Mantle... whattttt. I actually gave it the same when I first heard it. Hopefully it'll click with you better in time like it did me. The only thing about it that is less than perfect are the clean vocals for me, but even then they're mostly fine.
