I was very much in awe of Carla Kihlstedt a few years back, still am now I suppose. Spoke to her on myspace for a while and she seems really cool:)

theres this odd solo artist called grandmother is dead, that offers his albums on his website for free, another RYM user pointed them to him, its eclectic nice stuff for metal :)
