man, well I probably had the much more boring version of your life cuz I think England is super cool and I have relatives there so I've been there several times. I live in the city Prince, the Replacements and Husker Du are from so that's cool. But still. People in america are fat racist idiots and don't let anyone tell ya otherwise.
the thing is the liberal types, at least these days, a lot of them are using social justice as like a fashion tag, so they can be just as dumb. IMO english culture has a lot more tendency to slow down and use logic for two seconds whereas here we just like to hear ourselves yell.
And English weather rules, I'm in the coldest major urban area in the states, so we'll have like a meter of snow and -20 -30 temps. And yet people stay somehow. You get an inch of snow and everyone goes crazy! :p My relatives are in Manchester so I've been there several times (Altrincham, Trafford) but I've also been to Birmingham and 5 times I've been to London
Ahh nice one! I've heard good things about Evil Eyes (and the Johnny Depp endorsement lol) and I think I know people who have been to Fibbers, just started as a post-grad in the uni so so far my experience of a night out has been shite like Stone Roses, grim haha. Although I did go see some indie rock/hardcore punk bands in Dusk the other week and that was pretty cool.
Yeah im looking forward to going to Leeds at some point. I've never been on a night out there somehow, I have a close mate who went to uni there so would be very interested in going back so I cant imagine it will be too long before I go. Im half considering having a quiet NYE and going to the NYD show in Canal Mills (Black Madonna, Floating Points, Motor City Drum Ensemble, looks sick) but its convincing my mates to do the same
"Not as good as his best record, 'Blacklisted' from 2012 - an album so under the radar in critical/music elitist circles it doesn't even have a page on this site."
