About my rating system

My ratings (out of 10) are the same for a lot of albums, but I don't necessarily consider them equally good. This is why the rankings are important.

I'd say anything rated above 5.5/10 deserves to be listened. Under that, aim for the genres you prefer.

10/10 : Absolute masterpiece* ★★★★★ on RYM
9.75-9.5/10 : Almost a masterpiece ★★★★★
9.25-8.5/10 : Incredible album that I'll listen to on a regular basis in years to come ★★★★✩
8.25-7.5/10 : Awesome album! You must listen to this! ★★★★
7.25-6.5/10 : Great album that will become a casual listening in the coming years ★★★✩
6.25-5.5/10 : Good album, but it lacks something to make it great ★★★
5.25-4.5/10 : You'll like it if your a fan of the genre, but overall it's average at best ★★✩
4.25/10 and Under : I normally don't rank these albums in my lists. If I did it's because I found something interesting in them nonetheless. Less than ★★✩

* I generally don't give this rating the first year the album comes out, because a masterpiece is normally given its status in the following years. Usually, albums rated 9 or above have potential to reach a 10/10 rating.
