I see you've recently given the new Dillinger album a 5 star rating. I must say I'm a little bewildered by the fact that people love the album as much as they do. I personally feel they've done much better albums in the past. It might be that I just don't 'get' the record yet, though that seems weird to me given that I've been listening to the band for over 5 years now. I want to ask what you take away from the album and why it is better than the other Dillinger albums to you, if you don't mind me randomly asking.

It's interesting that you mention the album being gloomy. It's something I've heard people mention before but I don't quite hear that. Granted, I have not really been reading into the lyrics, but I feel DEP usually brings 'gloominess' through musically, like on songs such as Sunshine the Werewolf (indeed one of their best songs) or on the Mike Patton EP in the latter half of the song When Good Dogs Do Bad Things, where they tread in almost a Converge territory of tension and drama. I probably just have to dig into Dissociation a few more times. Thanks for your extensive answer. It certainly didn't disappoint.

I think I'm finally warming up to Dissociation now after having acquaintanced myself with the second half of the record a lot more, which is superior to the first in my eyes. I upped the rating to 4 stars. Honeysuckle and pretty much everything after that is great.
