Music's been a passion of mine since around the age of 14, when I first heard The Dark Side of the Moon and fell in love with albums as an artform.

I'm open to trying all varieties of music but historically I've displayed a preference for genres under the blankets of rock and folk. I like great guitar work, thoughtful and honest lyrics, and albums that form a cohesive whole greater than the sum of its parts.

My ratings scale is as follows:

5.0 - Personal Favourite: These are my defining albums, the enjoyment I get from them is on another level from everything else.
4.5 - Essential: I adore these albums, start to finish, and revisit them often.
4.0 - Exceptional: Completely enjoyable listen, quite fond of these.
3.5 - Great: Highly enjoyable listen.
3.0 - Good: Enjoyable listen but flawed.
2.5 - Interesting: Mixed bag. I like parts of these a lot, but don't care for much of it.
2.0 - Worthwhile: Have something good about them, but probably wouldn't listen again.
1.5 - Meh: These just didn't do anything for me.
1.0 - Bad: I disliked listening to these.
0.5 - Aggressively Terrible: If an album winds up down here, I found it some combination of boring, irritating, or offensive, from start to finish.

Despite my join date, I reset my ratings in October 2016 and have only been active on RYM since that time.

Every 100th rating will be some sort of meme album.
