[New discoveries are rated in real time since March 11th 2016. Before that I added my pre-RYM collection all at once.]

Music has always occupied a firm spot in my daily life. This is where I get a large portion of my esthetic delights. It is also a pleasant world to crawl in and escape certain confrontations in the harsh adult life and disappear for a while. During the years an evolution is taking place in my musical journey. That's great to see :)
I used to listen to experimental, underground and cult releases from a very broad landscape of genres: progressive rock, post-rock, psychedelic rock, 60s/70s rock, singer-songwriter, jazz, blues, indie rock, drum & bass, IDM, ambient, classical, soul, funk, trip-hop, shoegaze, and so on. You could say in my twenties I was a wild, unleashed musical beast, searching, finding, looking, listening to... everything. But anything with artistic quality. Yes, I've been called a geeky snob.
After 2010 my musical journey became less rocky and more focussed. Now my listening adventures are taking place around rootsy and contemplative genres like folk, blues, country, singer-songwriter, roots reggae, rocksteady and ambient. I'm happy to allow exceptions like progressive rock, psychedelic rock... and everything that has got to do with my 60s/70s fetish. So settling down more and more. More focus and calm, quiet music. It's very handy to get to know your own musical preferences without too much consideration and guidance of anonymous critics. Now I follow my heart and that is really giving musical focus and joy.
In 2016 I decided to answer the ethical voices from within and realised I am not proud of my greedy history of illegal downloading. Now I'm restricting myself to a more minimalistic approach to musical discovery. I try to give albums more time to grow. I try to give financial support to the artists I love. Because stealing is quickly done in the age of internet. Do you recognise yourself in my story? I always like to meet people like you and have a chat about the number one art in the world. :)
