My ratings can seem a bit skewed to the positive end, because a) I am only really reviewing my own collection, which is of course mostly populated with things I like and b) I only feel comfortable with rating/reviewing things when I feel I have listened to them enough to know them well, which of course also is most common with things I like. My hope is that I can use rating/reviewing on RYM as an impetus to listen more deeply to more of my albums, formulate opinions on them and eventually end up with a widely representative collection on here.

I write reviews for external sources, but these reviews are only included here when the releases have found their way into my personal collection - when this does happen, said reviews are sourced.
