My rating curve goes a little like this;

5.0 = instant classic, pinnacle of the genre, essential
4.5 = extremely good, among the best in its genre
4.0 = very good, good example of its genre
3.5 = really good
3.0 = good
2.5 = pretty good
2.0 = decent
1.5 = not good
1.0 = outright bad
0.5 = so bad I probably won't bother rating it
