I was started with banal radio music but I remember was some rock songs in some case, after I found some classic rock bands (with the help of Internet), after this I found Metal bands like Blind Guardian or Iron Maiden. And much later (with a passion for Tops with German bands, yes) I found RYM and much later I decided to have a cont on this site. The story is more long but this is the essential.

You have a similar taste in music as I do! Very nice. Uaral's music is beautiful and depressing. The only thing that some people complain of is the vocals (but I don't mind them). Listen to it when you have the time if you want to.

You also have many lists! (Like me). Great lists. I checked some of them now. Will check the rest later when I have more time. Take care.

Funny, everybody on RYM seems to think Live After Death is their best. I just don't see it. I think that the music is a bit too raw and not as well recorded as their latter album. Now it's still Maiden and an excellent live performance, but nothing beats Rock in Rio for the energy they play their classic songs with and how the crowd interacts and of course bad ass Fear of the Dark sounds (that version will NEVER be topped) and nothing I think will ever beat Death on the Road in terms of best video experience and I think their best technical performance of their career. The latter is their magnum opus to me.

You already knew the answer to the first part of your question. :) Mini-review just for you:

When I was really young, something like 5 or 6 years old, my father showed me this awesome LP he had. The album cover already was extremely scary (and yet at the same time awesome), but the full image was even scarier, because you could open the LP cover and make the image two times bigger. So first I just loved the album cover artwork. Then, when I was 14 years old my father thought I was old enough for progressive rock and played the song "The Court of the Crimson King" to me and said: "You liked this album's cover artwork when you were a kid. You were scared of it, but you also liked it." I said "I remember" and I listened to the song and it was awesome already on the first listen. I only liked the songs "21st Century Schizoid Man" and " The Court of the Crimson King" as a teenager, but thanks to the repeated listens I learned to like the other three songs as well when I was much older, 30 or so.

Of course if I had plenty of time, I could give you a much more detailed answer, but these are the main reasons why it's my favourite album on RYM's top 10 chart.
