re: Confrontations, I listened to it once when I bought the album and wasn't too impressed by it, but yesterday I threw it on the turntable and ended up listening to it 3 times in a row. I think the low ratings/lack of Umberto's normal acclaim is probably just a reaction to him doing something different; it strikes me as a more terrestrial take on what Spencer Clark was doing on The Spectacle of Light Abductions
And I don't know why I watched Ted, I hate Seth McFarlane and should have realized that a feature length running time would only give him more space to stretch out bad jokes
re: Haxan, I can't believe I hadn't rated it before, I actually stole a short film I made in college wholesale from that movie
one last quick thought on Confrontations, maybe he should've changed his name for it? Spencer Clark changes pseudonyms with every new aesthetic, but that's also why he remains fairly anonymous
of course I guess the Umberto aesthetic is a fake horror film score composer, and Confrontations is an alien horror film instead of his usual giallo/slasher fare. Morricone didn't just score westerns, after all
I know you're a big vinyl guy, so you should definitely look into the new reissue. It sounds FANTASTIC, and finally getting to hear it through my living room speakers was awesome

Just bought ... on vinyl, man am I turned up!
