Oh, I think I got addicted in this thing called RYM.

My english is bad I prefer to say firstly to avoid problems.
My reviews are not professional, more with my lack of english, I still like to share my ideas and critics, I talk too much.
I'm an ambitious person and up to listen, critic and rate all the musics of the universe, already listened billion of sounds, and never tired of it.
I do music for free, some old bad produced musics published in a small label, if you want to have fun, I say already the production is kinda bad and some synths are raucous, yet I think the compositions are creative, I have sounds to release yet that are better produced, my newer albums. (pm for name)

I'm here to overall critics, most unbiased possible (but its hard in the music world). From mainstream to underground. I prefer under, but sometimes my critics of it hits the mainstream ones, so I have to accept some musics are worst than some mainstream ones, and otherwise too, because truth matter most. Since I'll Try to critic in a unbiased way, I wrote some criterias, if a stupid sound fits those, I'll give a high rate.

I'm very annoying in deciding if a music is good or not, few things are enough to vote it down. More if its a mainstream music, because, in majority, the mainstream music is very well produced.

I hate rock, their sub-genres and parallel genres (metal, punk, hardcore and etc), I prefer to hear Ariana's music than to hear GSYBE!, all rock-like genre is automatically 3,0 or under for me, I would avoid rating it to not let my personal taste confront the critic, but I have to rate all the musics of the world, accept it.
I hate noise, darkness, distortions, disturbance, I'm like those aunts that like to drink tea and have soft talks, I like elegance and to relax on some plants (and even sober), and those musics are not nice for that.

Anyway... I hope nobody uses my rates as a reason to change their rates, I'm evaluating music as sound, some genres and artist brought very interesting things to music world, and should receive 5 stars for that, or its a great artist but failed in lot of mine criteria, some genres fail almost all criteria but are good artists.

My personal way to rate is 10,00;
Regardless of that, I never give 10, only God can have this score.
My RYM rate have different parameters.

9.0 - The best produced sounds, that are creative, innovative, epic, incontestable, everyone likes, mainstream and undergrounds respect, intellectual, emotional, deep... Better saying, the sound that is lacking nothing, and there is no mistake, regardless if is the best or not.

8.0 - Impressive, touched my heart, deserves attention, master production, creative, innovative, and more than anything: I NEVER SKIP IT when it falls on my "constantly playing playlist".
Yet not all the mainstream musics I'll listen, but some deserves this rating.

7,75 - All of the above, but there is minimal parameters that makes the above one be better, I use more this rating to a sound that is visible better than the rated at 7,5 but visible worst than 8,0.

7,5 - Would be on my First Division folder, this is threshold to be on my "constant playing playlist", for this rating, I respect some things that could lack on 8,0 rating. I would rate this more for the sounds that are respectable, well produced, creative.

7,0 - I'm not much wanting to listen this sound on my "constant playing playlist", probably I would skip this sound lot of times, it still nice, more nice than the ones that you keep because some attachment.

6,75 - Those sounds are on a Second Division folder, and they are not on the "constant playing playlist", consequently, I just listen when I really fell like I have to.
Some musics that have a good enough production, creativity, nice details, no disturbances.

6,5 - This is bad, for me, I'll probably avoid listening, yet I give this rating because I consider the job of producing music being well done and respectable.

6,0 - This is the bottom to be reproved. If I rate 6,0, its because I know technically the sound shouldn't receive a harsh commentary, yet, probably I give harsh commentaries on the shadows, hahaha.
Some musics that have a acceptable production, nice details, but have things I consider a 'unnecessary'.

5,75 - Probably there is something that is Over exaggerated on the sound, and it made me fell like it was inelegant.
If it sounds pop but its not even good as the top pop artists, or it sound pop but its not pop (worst score in this case).
Its is forcible pop, like "USA for Africa - We are the World", yet better than this one.

5,5 - Probably there is something that is unforgiving Over exaggerated on the sound, and it made me fell like it was inelegant. (Lot of rock genre artists)

4,0 - This is the bottom line, lower than this I kinda have another kind of critic, probably its a detestable sound, badly made.
Acceptable if in a certain degree of amateurism.

3,0 - Probably its a detestable sound, badly made, offensive, waste of time, I can't stand listening (I'm very tolerant).
Acceptable if almost a total amateur. Totally not acceptable to anyone that is not amateur.

2,0 - Probably I prefer to listen some horrible natural noises than this. I would avoid a toddler and child to listen this.
Acceptable if almost a total amateur.

RYM rate - Its not half of 10/10 rate:
5,0 - probably artists from 9,5 to 8,0, few will receive this, its almost a prize.
(Only Autechre and Boards of Canada deserves this in my opinion)
4,5 - Probably artists from 7,75 to 8,0;
4,0 - Probably artists from 7,75 to 7,25;
* 4 stars need to impress me, sometimes there is a good sound but not good enough it will be 3,5, I think the sound don't deserve, but the sound don't deserve 4 either

3,5 - 7,25 to 6,5;
3,0 - 6,5 to 6,0;
2,5 - 6,0 to 5,5;
2,0 - 5,5 to 4,0;
1,5 - 4,0 to 3,0;

- Rhythm:
- No exaggerations on the variation of long and short duration notes
* i.e.: Go fast then slow, like a car that go forwards and breaks, I don't like this kind of percussion;
* I don't like rhythm like this (Pon de Replay)

- A rhythm that after finishes the pattern, don't loop in a fine way.
- Melody:
- Timbre;
- Composition;
- "Espalhafatosidade" (disturbance variations, Google trad.: fussy; gaudy; flashy; tawdry; garish; noisy; bustling; staring);
- Exaggerations;
- Bad bridges;
- Lot and ample variations of difference between velocity notes;
- "fffffff..." notes;
- Modulations that causes disturbances;
- Long notes right after short notes, making it sounds like "a car going forward and breaking";
- Too much repetitive notes in a row (depends of the intention);
- Blasting synths and/or with raucous timbre.
- Pad:

- Not much rich harmonics (depends).
- Vocal:

- Keep not much time in a intense part/chorus, intense vocals sicks me after a time if made for long.
- Samples:
- Stupid retriggers;
- Stupid joke samples (maybe its funny at first hearing, but if a music on my playlist, its bad to hear a joke each time you hear the music);
- Take care with vocal samples, and using it as an instrument (Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck), this album is hype, but I hate this sound, sorry, simple hate those vocal samples, its a disturbance);
- Care with non-instruments samples, they may have lot of disturbances on the timbre, and listening for a while can make me sick of it, one of the mains examples, I hate siren samples.
- MPDs/MPCs, care with the constant retrigger or making a entire music with the same sample chops but just using different orders;
- Low quality samples with high quality samples, I'll forgive if you lack equipment, or your production is kinda "punk";
- Sample from over expended traditional musics, like Saudade, more if its from a unknown country, being from Brazil makes me dislike this album because those musics are popular here and have stupid lyrics.
- Composition:
- Creativity;
- Good loops;
- Creative transitions, progressions and bridges;
- If its just a loop, like, The Disintegration Loops, I'll consider the degree of sickening to listen it;
- Nice details;
- Not using over expended techniques (rate by epoch);
- If you sound is experimental, I have others criteria for that;
- Technique:
- Not yet -
- Mix/Master:
- Creativity in the mix of samples/instruments;
- Tracks too much louder;
(voice is way louder than the instrumental, don't think its the rip)
- Not a pattern that suddenly appears blasting and ear raping;
- Too much compression (I see it too much in underground and non-so-much-underground Trap/Future Garage/Wonky artists);
- Lack of compression and/or drum mastering;
- Limiter that causes distortion;
- Stupid effects, exaggerated effects (if not experimental), loud effects/modulations/automation;
- "Effect noise" (so much effect I can't hear the sample/instrument), only in things where this is the intention, like a shoegaze;
- Much empty frequencies (you can fix it adding texture), depends of the intention;
- Over fixing a sample until it looks more plastic or metallic;

I have more to add...

Ethnic/Recordings/Fieldrecordings criteria:
- Good recording (counting epoch);
- A margin of quality between the recorded tracks, some albums have different quality between tracks, some tracks are barely audible;

I won't consider Lyric and Theme.
Why?
Lyric:
- I'm not american, majority of the time I hear the vocal as an 'throat trumpet' and not as words;
- I hate 90% of people's ideals/philosophy/conclusions/concepts of reality/attitude/politics/life-style/desires/ambitions/intentions, I have found 10% of lyrics that talk what I believe/like, yet I give little value to keep reading/listening/translating it, and yes, I have heard lot of under and mainstream artists/poets, I always end up offended with what they say (not that I mind, I love to discuss philosophies, its just that in a music its like a flag that you have to see and can't do nothing, in philosophy, I can break your semantics, and in a music, if you change your idea, it will not change the lyrics);
- Majority of the lyrics aren't to reflex well, about life and/or existentialism, its more a ideology they incisively force on you, and its a sign of arrogance on my psychological concept;
- I hate political lyrics, I hate ideologies;
Theme:
- I hate sexual themes, egocentric themes, 'proudness', "image", alpha strong hair-less-chest male, alpha bitch ass-bouncer do-what-I-want, cute-cute-girly-girly-girl and sad finger-sucker artists;
- I hate "Fine Arts", and all that looks like well-dressed people in a mansion drinking martinis with a olive;
- I hate 'over-poetically' artists and 'over-theatrical' artists.
- I hate masquerade, evilness, ads, lot of jokes, scatology, profanation and provocation (don't matter what you provoke, I don't like to be provoked, I'll not provoke);
- I hate incisive ideological/political theme, not everyone agree with you, and I have to disagree each time I hear the music, and sometimes get on discussions because that;

I have others personal criteria, but its much abstract to write in few words.
I change a lot my ratings.

Album:

(i.e.: 3,5 in all musics (42) / 12 musics (60) * 5 = 3,5)
Sometimes a album receive/lose more points if there is a special characteristic on it, like:
- consistence;
- creativity;
- because more musics in your album, more the medium is lower;
- Have something of important (history, concept, innovation and etc);
- Don't count passages, intros, endings and etc, only if good and inside a 'rateble' concept.
- If there is amount of bad musics that you'll always have to skip, making the album a harder option to choose;
- when all musics deserves the same rate technically and I would like if I listened each separately, but when you listen the entire album and it begins to get boring before ending.
