Music is love! And since all you need is love...then it is logical to assume that all you need is music! ;P

I grew up on 'classic rock' (mainly the Eagles and Clapton) and 1990s bubble gum pop. When I hit my teen years I discovered The Beatles and Bob Dylan. I spent a lot of high school listening to the music of the '60s. In my late teens I found 70s punk and 80s new wave/alternative. I try to have an open mind about music and I'm always excited when I discover something new or rediscover something I use to love. I'm always up for a great recommendation and love to discuss any and all aspects of music. It's definitely been there for me when nothing else was. It's shaped and defined me for much of my life and I have no idea where I'd be without it.

Guide to my ratings.

Music:

* .5, 1, or 1.5 is just God awful crap. My ears hate me and are bitter that I dared to allow them to suffer to hear this.
** 2, 2.5 is still dreadful, but must have at least a little something that I don't completely hate and find somewhat redemptive or appealing (it's possibly for cheesy, corny, and/or campy reasons though).
*** 3, 3.5 it's pretty average. Could have been better, could have been worse. Don't love it, don't hate it.
**** 4, 4.5 above average. Fantastic, lovely, awesome, amazing, great, etc. I'm a better person for having heard this and want to share it with the world!
***** 5 EPIC, mind blowing, life changing, as close to perfect as anything on this earth can get.

Film:

* .5, 1, 1.5 total crap. I either was forced to watch this, was bored on a Saturday afternoon and it was on TV, or had higher expectations for it and was bitterly disappointed hence the extremely low rating.
** 2, 2.5 'awful, just awful!'
*** 3, 3.5 eh...it was alright. Average. Probably own or wouldn't mind owning it, or rewatching it, but not exactly a masterpiece (possibly a guilty pleasure as well).
**** 4, 4.5 amazing! Highly enjoyable, will want to rewatch again and again with pleasure. Recommend to anyone and everyone.
***** 5 greatest fucking thing ever OMG!! Mind blowing and epic, I either have great, emotional, personal love for it or on a technical level I think it's one of the greatest things ever made. Nearly perfect.
