Currently doing a complete relisten project. Every album I've ever listened to! 2.5 star albums are albums I am going to listen to. 1.5 star albums are on the back burner -- I'm sure a few of these I won't bother revisiting. The rest of the ratings are 'true' ratings.

I listen to a lot of music. But I would say that my habits follow the 80/20 rule --- 80% of my listening time goes into 20% (or maybe fewer) of the albums I have rated. So it may look like I'm a pretty harsh rater, but its really only because I take my time with an album before giving in a 3 or more. Pretty much 3+ means I've listened to the album at least a dozen times.

There really are not that many albums that I've found offensively bad. Even in the 1 star ratings of mine I can find albums that I once enjoyed. Thinking about listening to any of these albums kind of makes me go 'meh' - there's better stuff out there.

My least favorite review is someone saying "Come on guys! Why so harsh? This album isn't that bad..." and then they proceed to give very good reasons as to why the album has a low rating.

The 100 Zappa re;ease number is because it is number 100 on the offical chronological order list. Tons of his albums take years and years to release. There was an album he talked about releasing before he died and it was pushed back a million times until 2006. I assume this was because of copyright stuff though, it's an album of Edgar Varese tracks. Here is a listt of all the albums, #99 is Roxy by Proxy, last one in the second clump of albums.

My mistake, a different album is Varese covers, so I don't really know why it took so long to release.

Short Answer: IHE makes no attempt to understand the thing he criticizes. He basks in his ignorance. He's the worst kind of critic.

Redletter media is indeed a pretty fantastic channell, although I'm not too hot on their non-Plinkett stuff. It wouldn't be a stretch to call Plinkett tje Beefheart of Youtube, although I would personally give Jesse Wood that distinction. He's just that much more crazy, that much more dada. Here's a video game review for instance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afbQWE5xrYE
