Music
5.0 Stars: Perfect. Zero filler and are kick ass from start to finish. Albums that I will take with me to the grave. My classics.
4.5 Stars: Outstanding, however, something is pulling it back from being perfect. It could be something as silly as an intro/outro track, an odd inclusion of a track that should've been a b-side, or something else entirely.
4.0 Stars: Outstanding, no doubt, but the rest of the tracks may be lacking or not as strong as a 4.5 star album.
3.5 Stars: Great. May be inconsistent. Pacing may be off, one or two tracks that may just don't fit the overall theme of the album, or the tracks that are here just aren't enough to warrant a higher rating.
3.0 Stars: Good album. Generally guilty pleasures or albums that I find that are "good" in the genre. Generally don't push any boundaries, or are just incredibly hit and miss.
2.5 Stars: Painfully average. Strictly for fans of the genre. Generally bland, boring or formulaic throughout.
2.0 Stars: Below average. May have a few bits and pieces I enjoy but overall the album misses the mark more than it does.
1.5 Stars: Terrible. May have an enjoyable performance from a singer, lyricist or accompanist. Otherwise, they are awful albums.
1.0 Stars: Nearly unlistenable. May have listened to the first track or two but ended up skipping through the rest. Painful listening experiences.
0.5 Stars: Unlistenable. The worst of the worst, bottom of the barrel. Albums that hurt my ears and make me question whether or not they were serious when recording this turd.

Movies
5.0 Stars: Perfect. If I were to be stranded on an island, these are the movies I would take with me.
4.5 Stars: Recommend often. Nearly perfect, may have an annoying character or filler scene(s), but overall does not distract too much from the plot.
4.0 Stars: Recommend less-often. May have an annoying character or filler scene(s) that sometimes distract from the plot.
3.5 Stars: Great. May have a frustrating choice in character, line, actor, setting or a combination of these. Distractions begin to moderately affect the plot.
3.0 Stars: Good. Easy recommendation to fans of the genre, however outside of this and I would not recommend these films.
2.5 Stars: Average. Painfully dull and formulaic, only recommended to the most hardcore fans of the genre. Bland and dry.
2.0 Stars: Below average. Absolutely formulaic and cliché, annoying characters, plot that seemingly goes nowhere, pacing may be off, questionable casting, etc.
1.5 Stars: Hard to watch. May not even have finished, may suffer the same problems as a 2.0 Star film, but does not have nearly as many redeeming qualities.
1.0 Stars: Terrible. Atrocious in almost all ways, if not all but unwatchable.
0.5 Stars: Unwatchable. These are the films that I question if they were even trying. Lazy and sloppy.
