I'm Mike O, and I like metal. I go through occasional phases with other music (southern rock, psychedelic rock, some punk stuff, classical), but metal is consistently better and more interesting than any other genre I've explored; metal at its best has no equal. I don't listen to music that bores me for the sake of being considered "open-minded and diverse."
With that said, doom metal and black metal are my favorite kinds of metal, which seems kinda paradoxical because in their purest forms they're basically the opposite of each other, but I think they represent the best of both extremes: Slow, melodic, and haunting on one end, and fast, aggressive, and raw on the other end.
I like a lot of movies. Classic movies, especially horror, are my favorite, but I also like film-noirs, samurai movies, westerns, and pre-2000's comedies. If I had to pick a few favorite movies, then they'd probably be Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, An American Werewolf in London, The Shining, Lord of the Rings, The Wicker Man (original), Rear Window, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, and The Treasure of the Sierre Madre.
If my ratings seem overwhelming positive, then that's because I already had a pretty extensive knowledge of music and movies before I came to this website. Currently, my ratings only represent a small fraction of what I've listened to or seen, and most of it is positive because that's what sticks out in my memory the most.

Anyway, thanks man, I do appreciate the kind words regarding that review.
Deathcrush is great but in a totally different way; pure idiot savant metal in the vein of stuff like INRI. (although more Venom-y) The post-Euro stuff isn't recommend but that's just my opinion, YMMV.
