I should probably clarify that I was semi-joking in my last message with that bit about hating all men and wanting to see them wiped off the face of the Earth. I don't actively wish for male genocide, but all I'm saying is, such an event would put me in an incredibly advantageous position. It's probably the only way I could become as desirable to women as Channing Tatum or Ryan Gosling.
Then again, perhaps being a male sex symbol isn't quite as glamorous as it appears. You know how women sometimes throw their bra or underwear on stage at a concert? I often wonder if this happens at other locations as well. For example, if Ryan Gosling visits a home for the elderly, do 85 year old women throw their underwear at his face?
On a side note, the character of Detective John Munch is notable for appearing in many different TV shows, including both The X-Files and The Wire. Do you know what that means? It means The X-Files and The Wire both take place in the same fictional universe. It's no wonder the FBI didn't care about the drug problem, they were too busy dealing with alien conspiracies.
The new Johnny Jewel album (Windswept) sounds like it was highly influenced by Twin Peaks. I wasn't sure how to rate it. I do like the overall atmosphere, but a part of me wants to criticize it for being derivative.
Yeah, Johnny Jewel is a member of Chromatics, but I strongly prefer his solo work.
Don't worry about spoiling Twin Peaks because I typically watch each episode as soon as possible (usually right after it airs). The new season felt a little odd at first because it doesn't have as much of the trademark score I've come to love, but I quickly got over it and like how the show manages to be completely different, yet also familiar...if that makes sense. The funniest moment for me so far was the "Heelllloooo!" stuff at the casino.
I'm curious to hear your thoughts so far. Do you like the new style or were you hoping it would be more like the first two seasons?
