I'm always on the lookout for something new. I'll give anything a shot, recommendations are highly appreciated. I tend to prefer noisy rawk music and usually don't go out of my way to listen to a lot of rap or hip hop, but I do enjoy it. The only two genres I will not touch with a ten foot pole are Trap/Snap and whatever kind of music The Weeknd makes.

Check out my grossly incompetent music here: https://pbsbutnotreally.bandcamp.com/

Random comments/thoughts:

I never realized how much I wanted a Noise rock rendition of the Bob the Builder theme song until just now.

For being one of my favorite bands, Weezer sure has a pretty shitty batting average. There's like, what, three out of ten albums by them that I really like? And everything else just ranges from okay to abhorrent? How does that work?

A capella renditions of popular radio songs (and a capella songs in general) make me want to die.

Hi, my name is Peehole "Why is it illegal to marry a 12-year old" Scruffy. I'm a creepy old Italian guy who listens to nothing but recordings of Japanese men rubbing their genitals on electric guitars. Please visit my GeoCities page where you can see how much music I've probably listened to.

My RYM profile is "MusicSux74". I give everything more than three people have ever heard before a 0.5. My only five star rating is a Vietnamese dark ambient recording of some guy screaming in his basement, accompanied by someone with a shamisen who doesn't know how to play it, for two straight hours. That truly speaks to me in ways no music can.

A genre consisting of boring crescendos, long-winded string sections, and enough pretentiousness to fuel a million college school students' endeavors of trying to pretend they're better than everyone else shouldn't have the word "rock" anywhere near its title.

Nu-metal just makes me think of bootleg MP3 players and WWE.

A lot of the music I listen to doesn't really go past the 80s. There weren't a lot of people making screechy feedback noise rock that would give most people a heart attack back then. I'm almost definitely missing out on some good shit that came out of that era, but by god am I happy that my knowledge of popular music basically comes to a grinding halt around the late 70s. I've heard some of the stuff that was really popular around and before that time and it sounds awful. I have a friend who has to listen to all that shit all day at work and I deeply sympathize with him.

What each rating means to me:

Current rating system consists of references to Homestar Runner.

10: Albums that have, in one way or another, absolutely blown me away. Basically nines with a dash of personal bias.

9.0-9.9: Fantastic albums that I'd recommend to everyone. Works of art.

8.0-8.9: Music that is consistently great throughout. Lots of good stuff here.

7.0-7.9: Very good. Maybe a little rough here and there, but still worth listening to.

6.0-6.9: It's good, but missing that special something. I can still easily give it a light recommendation.

5.0-5.9: Tough to say either way. Either very inconsistently good or too samey to make much of an impact. Start of possible guilty pleasure territory.

4.0-4.9: Not quite up to snuff. May have good ideas but lacking in skill or finesse.

3.0-3.9: Stands out in no meaningful way whatsoever. Not yet awful, but there's not much to like here. Possible guilty pleasure territory ends here.

2.0-2.9: It's bad alright. Tasteless and obnoxious, no good. Either that or it's a silly, dumb joke album that I like but also can't give much musical merit.

1.0-1.9: A complete butchering of the art of music. What makes these especially appalling is the thought that there's no shortage of people who readily enjoy this malarkey. A disgrace to the existence of brain cells. Basically makes me genuinely disgusted.

Haha, I love your review for Andrew Jackson Jihad's album "People That Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World." The Bernie Sanders joke made me laugh pretty hard :D

I know it's old, but had to leave a comment about your Lindsey Stirling review because, as a native Utahn ex-Mormon, I can confirm just how damn spot-on it is.
