Thanks for the reply my dude. Quick question, when you're picking, do you have your fingers out, or together with your thumb and pointer? I don't know how to explain it, but when I brought my fingers back, my picking speed increased by like 20 bpm.

Thanks, SO, from seeing your videos you sent me, it seems we pick with the same grip. What I used to use was more like Paul Gilbert's technique.

I also keep my forearm on the edge of the top of my guitar, halfway between my elbow and wrist. Doing that and using my thickest pick (1.5mm) increases my natural playing speed. I can do decent 16ths at 152bpm for about 30 seconds to a minute. I've also heard that resting your guitar on your left leg is better while practicing, but I can't attest to that.

I've also been thinking about learning from John Petrucci's Rock Discipline, but in all honestly I'm too lazy to make the time for it, lmao
