About your comment on Car Seat Headrest: As someone who is old enough to have been a teen when Nevermind was released, I'm obviously not really qualified to say what teens of today think about the latest Car Seat Headrest album. But I can tell you, that when I first heard Teens Of Denial, my exact thought was "Shit, this is just as big as Nevermind was, this is going to revolutionize rock again". Just to tell you, that perhaps your opinion isn't that presumptuous after all. ;) Cheers , Martin.
Hey Jack, I finally got around to listening to The Monsanto Years, and you were right: This is an absolute masterpiece of dadrock cluelessness, completely with a hilariously overblown roots-rock sound. Thank you so much for the rec.
I dunno, Brokencyde really isn't in the "ironic" group in either sense. For me, they were just a terrified band that practiced unconventional (sometimes horrifying) taste, then transitioned to trap music with varying results (I personally find their "P$ycho$" single one of the best songs of the year). Aside from the harsh misogyny, they never had much in common with The Room.
