I like that planned economy could solve the capitalist overproduction and be more efficient and sparing in dealing with resources, it should be more stable and consistent than market economy which inevitably leads to crisis. I think it would be better for the environment considering that in a profit driven society where companies are competing with each other you have to use the most effective and profitable methods no matter how much you damage the environment or how bad the workers conditions are, though this could be probably fixed with heavy government regulations. Overall I would prefer to live in a society which is not driven by profit, I fear that even socialist market economy would produce the same negative effects to the society and peoples ethical values and personality traits that current market economy does. It seems better to me to have an economical system where businesses are working with each other to achieve a common goal and enrich the society rather than an economical system where bussineses are competing with each other and a lot of them fail which produces hostility, envy and social alienation amongst people, I also think that social inequalities would be bigger in market socialism, even though in proper extent thats not really a problem, we dont want everyone to be literally equal.

I dont like Marxist-Leninists too much, but Im cool with him most of the time. He cares about theory and improving the world but has a very narrow view and is a bit too dogmatic. Since you refer to Chesterton in your The Passion of the Christ review: Is Heretics a good introduction into his work?

Yeah I think I can get behind what you wrote there, even though I dont understand Hegel unfortunately, and would be probably open to a more mixed economy with some sort of markets.
