Heidegger's very Augustinian. According to my prof, he's really popular at Catholic universities. Like I said before, he's pretty biased against Heidegger, he makes good arguments for being so, but he's wrong (in my view) about some things. I'm probably a Catholic in the making myself, so that might explain why I like him so much.
And that is funny. I never talk about philosophy with other people really, but on the occasion that I drink with people I always end up ranting about politics.
Books: After finishing Being and Time, I read Saint Augustine's "Confessions," which was a deep and beautiful book, going to try and read his main work, "The City of God," this summer. After that I read the political autobiography of Corneliu Codreanu, "For My Legionaries," which was another great book that I'll be going back to often for inspiration. Been reading some of the Bible here and there as well. At the moment I'm reading "Simulacra and Simulation" by Jean Baudrillard, it's a really fascinating analysis of meaning in postmodern technological society. All of this in between the various things I'm reading for class.
As far as choral music goes, I'd recommend above anything else Basso Profondo from Old Russia ("The Orthodox Singers" Male Choir, Georgy Smirnov) and Armenian Medieval Spiritual Music.
