H.C. - J'aime beaucoup lire Lévinas, ça m'amuse énormément. C'est pour moi très ludique. Mais j'ai toujours noté que les lectures talmudiques dont je me régale sont quand même en français, enfin, dans son français lévinasien. Et que curieusement, donc, elles se situent exclusivement au niveau de l'interpretation, c'est un talmudisme herméneutique mais qui n'accomplit pas - du moins dans ses livres - de travail sur la langue, alors que je suis persuadée que le travail talmudique passe par un travail sur le signifiant linguistique, sur la lettre, etc. Et c'est une singularité extrême, c'est paradoxal au fond.

    I've played the first two MGS games. They're very good, not what I would call "art games" though they do a lot of interesting things. They're very cinematic, both in the sense that they have long cutscenes and are also obviously influenced by anime and action movies, but they're simultaneously some of the most "video-gamey" games I've played. They do a lot of parody and fourth-wall breaking, and have a lot of intentionally absurd plot elements, mechanics, and characters, but can also be deadly serious and philosophical in a way that can come off as unintentionally silly, like an action movie that thinks it's deeper than it is. As a result the games can tread a fine line between intentional and unintentional self-parody. I ended up groaning at some of the more "serious" dialogue, but I also laughed at some of it, and it was honestly hard to tell when I was laughing at or with the game.

    Mechanically the games are a combination of stealth and more action-based mechanics that shouldn't mesh but somehow do. Although some of the mechanics are poorly-explained so there is a learning curve. The boss battles are frequent, difficult (mostly for me, anyway), and really fun and satisfying.

    I wouldn't say they're perfect games but still easily among my favorite console games.

    The only console I currently own is a PS2.

    I admire speedrunners in the way I admire athletes. I like watching them do their thing sometimes but I'm not personally interested in doing it.
