zerkalo is my second favorite tarkovsky who's my favorite director. my rating may not be a 5.0 (it's pretty close tho) but I'm sure it's one of the most important films of all time.

stalker is still the best for me, it just makes me feel a lot. all my 5/5 movies are those that I had some kind of connection, even if it's not a cinematographic miracle (imo most of them really are).

Sincer, nici nu mai tin minte foarte bine, dar ambele-s destul de varza, de 1.5. Parca merg mai bine alea de Schumacher ca guilty pleasures, ca nu se iau asa in serios. Si ecspresionismul e foarte departe de a fi apexul cinematografiei, deci argument invalid. :(

Am revazut Werckmeister Harmonies [Werckmeister harmóniák], și sincer după ce mi-am format o mai bună orientare în filme, am început să il vad mult mai bine, încă are unele aspecte cară mă derajează dar revăzândul după ceva timp am putut observa lucruri ce mi-au scăpat, și unele care arată mult mai bine. Acum încep să înțegeg de ce multă lume îl apreciază așa mult, Nu pot spune că sunt în apreciez ca alte persoane, dar da, am început sa-l apreciez acum.

Hi there! I got intrigued by your comments under "Sieranevada" by Cristi Puiu and decided to ask what's the public response and general opinion of his films in Romania? I have seen this one yet but kinda wanted to after some friends' quite positive reviews. Now I'm not sure. Thanks in advance. Cheers :)

Thank you for an extended response. I think after all I'll give it a shot if I have a chance (though the official Polish premiere is set for June xD) to see if I can find anything for me in there.

It's good you mentioned Bela Tarr because I was about to ask you (especially seeing the title of his movie in you comment box) if they bear any similarities.

I don't have much experience with Romanian cinema as of yet (it's mostly occasional, based on some recent premieres which for the Romanian cinema are quite limited in Poland) but I'm willing to change it. You've mentioned some directors' names, but can you recommend me any particular film titles, some must-see movies of the Romanian cinema for a film aficionado or even better something to start with?

Oh yeah, I love the magic of Tarr's cinema, but as you accurately pointed it out it's not the ordinary world shown as it is. There's much more to it starting with beautiful cinematography. Thank you very much for a recommendation. I'm quite busy right now, but I'll definitely watch the Stone Wedding next week and I'll share my opinion if you're interested. Cheers!
