All my ratings are based on two metrics, "Gameplay" and "Aesthetics/Story". The former just means how strong the ideas of the gameplay were and how well developed they were executed. The latter just dumps atmosphere, story, art, design, and music into one category for the sake of simplicity. There are games like RE:Remake which have a stupidly over-the-top story filled with dumb one-liners, but their atmosphere and character and enemy design triumph, so I try to ignore the story a bit to focus more on the "aesthetic" aspects.
