Such an insane episode! I still prefer 7, but this one was uncategorizable to me. Such a fascinating watch, I was in awe the whole time. And to think we're only at episode 8!

I think (hope) the best part of this is that I feel we'll have the answers by the end of the season. I absolutely loved the sound throughout the whole thing, maybe more than (some) of the visuals tbh. As for your theories, I'll rebuttal each one.

I really, really hope Bob leaving(?) EvilCoop means good Coop is able to come back. Primarily cause I've been sick of Dougie for a while haha, but I feel the lack of Coop in the episode + the two-week break (making this a transitional episode of sorts) may lend credence to that.

Now I didn't see the atomic bomb as the creation of evil, more so that it caused a rift between our world and theirs, causing them to bleed in. I also love the fact we got a backstory too, and also wasn't expecting it whatsoever, especially so well thought out.

By purple room do you mean where the Giant (?????? - I think that'll be some big revelation btw) is? If so, I agree. I've always seen him as the antithesis to the evil, and that very much seemed like where he lived.

The bug thing is where my theory differs from yours. I don't have a definite answer, but I believe that was Sarah but not Leland. 1. He looked hispanic, and 2. I'm pretty sure he was born and raised in Washington, no? Secondly, I took the bug as Bob, not Laura. I initially thought it was Laura, but then I realized (I think) that the woodsman's message over the radio was like a signal to the bug on where to go.

Did you make the connection that that card looked an awful lot like 'experiment'? The thing spewing Bob's birth from her mouth? Someone screencapped it and you can see little horns on her head. I honestly have no idea of Bob's intentions tbh, nothing seems concrete to me.

There is so much to discuss and dissect, and we're only at episode 8! I'm overloading the comment box enough as is haha, and I still wanna discuss the woodsmen, the convenience store, gotta light, Phillip Jeffries working with both Ray and EvilCoop, etc

Yeah theoretically you're right there's really no difference if it was created or opened the rift. Honestly I kinda like the idea of evil being created then, or at least caused by humans, cause I don't want the evil to be 'spiritual' you know? I want it to be real, like at the heart of humans. Yup, I'm under the belief that was 'mother' in the glass box too, which does give credence that it was EvilCoop in charge of that thing.

I'm really hoping we get more Leland and Laura. Laura cause I love that character/Sheryl Lee to death, and Leland cause I need to know his motivation now.

And yup, that's another theory, that there's multiple bugs being spewed out. Which, tbh, I kinda wouldn't like, because it would diminish the power and impact of Bob if there were more than one. At least to me. But who knows!
