Hope you are having a good xmas ... do you ever get given music? one year I was given a piece of vinyl all wrapped up, and the people who gave it to me were sitting there watching me unwrap it. ... it was "Wanted" by Yazz ... probably the last record on earth I would voluntarily listen to. oh the ease with which we lie sometimes!
I really like Windy & Carl a lot. was hoping they would have been included in the Kranky 20th Anniversary gigs in Chicago last year (which were incredible) seeing as they have been with the label for ever. It looks like they might have parted company though which is sad. Nice gift though! ... talking of gifts, as a thanks for being a subscription member & supporter of the label Home Normal, the man that runs it sent me a huge stash (almost 40 cd's) which arrived today - all he wanted was some money to cover postage. I'm quite overwhelmed by his generosity. I now have weeks of new music to wallow in.
I do like that Feu Thérèse album you just got. bet they were a fun band live. I guess it all depends on how much you like the ambient drone side of life when it comes to Home Normal, although it's not just fill of that style of music. Two of my early favourites were the Christopher Hipgrave album "Day" and the Mountain Ocean Sun one called "Peace Conference" which has Warren Defever in the band, the guy from His Name is Alive, another band I am obsessed with!
