Prop hunt

A subgenre of hide-and-seek games that focus on hiders being able to blend into the environment by being able to disguise themselves as everyday objects through selection or randomness. Seekers may have abilities or advantages that may help determine what objects are players. Seekers may engage the environment by finding out-of-place objects and being aware of all other objects, thus playing the game like that of a hidden object game.

This has been a common fan-made mode in games such as Garry's Mod and Roblox. Other games have strictly focused on the genre, such as Propnight, Witch It, and Midnight Ghost Hunt. The genre has also been officially added as a mode in games such as Fortnite: Battle Royale and Crayta.
