Management games are simulation games which have you manage an organisation or project.

This can be directly becoming the role of a manager in a particular organisation, for example in the series Football Manager, the game aims to simulate the real-life job of being a football manager.

It can also mean managing a particular project in the broader sense rather than the professional sense, which usually means building, expanding, maintaining and managing a certain type of society or organisation. This can be a larger society such as a city or a colony or a smaller specific organisation such as an individual zoo, farm, theme park, prison, hospital etc.

The situation you manage can aim to be close approximations to real-world ones, parodies of real-world examples or even abstract examples - for example, the game Factorio asks the player to use impossible alien technology to build and manage a working space ship factory.
