Grand strategy

Grand strategy games are very closely related games to the wargame genre in that both genres take place on real-world maps in specific historic eras and often oversee military strategy. However, rather than solely simulating particular military movements in particular wars, in grand strategy games, the player will take control of a specific nation or region and control that nation's entire resources, economy, diplomatic relations, military and both internal and international politics. Due to the scope and length of grand strategy games, the game will also often involve long-term planning of all these things.
