XCOM 2

The pacing is very overwhelming during the first several missions (Even if you recently played EW), where it just keeps throwing stuff at you and escalating at a ridiculous pace compared to the previous game (Where it was all Sectoids for like 5 missions straight), which has made some of the more understated spooky elements of the previous game feel lost in a much more action-focused game (which is weird since this game places much more focus on subterfuge). But overall this (WotC specifically) is a pretty solid improvement over the previous game in more or less everything else. The gameplay elements have been honed particularly well and once you enter the groove it's non-stop fun. Has the same issue as the previous game where it just gets way too easy in the late game but at least the last mission is a sufficiently meaty challenge, and it's overall still harder if only for the early game which can be super brutal, and it's definitely more replayable. Can't wait for a third one, wondering where they can go from here.

I just started playing this and while it does feel oddly overwhelming, it's extremely fun, exhilarating almost.
