I always liked the Ultima VI engine, so I'm glad to see them try to get a little more use out of it. There's a surprising amount of meat to the main campaign, but unfortunately not a whole lot of depth to the gameplay that strings together the various sub-quests. Every character starts pre-leveled, there's minimal incentive to explore off the beaten path, and the individual tribes' quests range from trivial to still-trivial-but-tedious. A disproportionate percentage of the game involves trekking along featureless paths from village to village, which gets weirdly claustrophobic despite the large map size considering the play window is so tight. Honestly the best part of the game is the manual; Origin - and the Ultima games in particular - maintain the trend of including killer feelies and supplementary material, and the manual got me so pumped for an epic jungle adventure that "just" getting a fair-to-middling adventure game was still kind of a letdown.
