Title
I switched from the Master System original to the renamed TurboGrafx port after the first dungeon and I'm glad I did. Dragon's Curse sounds and looks better, but the smoother scrolling makes for a much better game. Although inferior, Dragon's Curse holds its own to revered classics like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night [悪魔城ドラキュラX 月下の夜想曲] and Super Metroid [スーパーメトロイド]. Getting new equipment, unlocking new characters, and exploring the open world is a lot of fun. I could never beat the final boss though. I probably could if I spent time stocking up on potions but eh.

Good game, but having to walk across the entire map whenever you want to buy potions, after you grinded for 3k gold for five minutes, is pretty frustrating.

This was changed in the GG version (where you can teleport) and the later remake

One of those rare games that almost makes me wishes I'd grown up with Sega consoles. I'd have been completely obsessed with this game if I'd played it as a kid, I just know it.

If you're looking through the Master System's library curious about what 8-bit gems you might've missed, this is the crowning jewel..
