Wildermyth

This game kept me quite engaged and is definitely suitable for binge gaming. Very impressive overall mechanics and the customizability and online compatibility make this game very fun. My only gripe is the excessive dialogue. Games like Disco Elysium have lots of dialogue, but the writing is good. Wildermyth's dialogue seems pointless a lot of the time and the writing is quite poor. Still, can be very addictive to play.

The characters all have the same personality and their stories are way too random with no continuity. The overworld mechanics are dull. Cool concept though.

This game is fantastic as an RPG due to its excellent storytelling. The sheer amount of different choices you can make for many different events which can result in different permanent outcomes make each adventure unique and interesting. If one of your character hp drop to zero, you even have the choice between having them escape with a permanent injury or going out like a boss. Through the many choices you made and events encountered, your characters will develop and their bond grow stronger, directly affect how the campaign plays out. However, the combat is lacking making it very repetitive. There seems to not be many skills to choose from and upgrade. While I like the art style, the lack of any animation did not help with how barebone the combat seems. Mystics are way more fun to play with compared to the other 2 classes, but after a while you realize that there's only 7 or 8 things you can do with all the different objects in the game. Still, this game is pretty good for an indie game despite the mediocre combat.
