Wii Sports Resort

This game is basically if Nintendo put Legend of Zelda effort into a light-hearted family game. There are so many games and they are all so good, even the ones I didn't like at first I eventually learned to love after playing them enough for the stamps. The addition of the stamps adds a lot of challenge and depth to otherwise simple games, I've been trying to get all them all on this game for years and I still have 2 games left to beat. It is full of charm and personality. Its also very fun to play with friends or family, pretty much every game can be played multiplayer and there are some multiplayer only modes. The controls are also great, very responsive and accurate, much better than the original Wii sports!

this is the pinnacle of family friendly video games bruh. this is a better Entertainment product than monopoly, uno and twister combined....


i rank this among proper video games (check my 5s) just because of how fucking fun it is. of course wii sports resort has no story or lore or worldbuilding or anything but it makes up for it with the most Good gameplay known to man. it is so timeless. every minigame plays so perfectly, somehow never getting repetitive - every round of every game can go differently, and there's room for different playstyles and attitudes. swordfight is the best thing here (obviously) like u could probably play swordfight for hours and not get bored. there are like a million different ways to play it and once you master it the satisfaction of beating ur friend off that platform is unmatched

even in singleplayer it is just as good. the 1-player showdown mode of swordfight is also addicting and replayable as fuck. the 1-player flying game was also great that would honestly be my pick for the second best mode in this game. the game's island was just so cool to explore (its no wonder theres such a big demand for minecraft/gmod renditions of wuhu island) and the controls made flying the plane satisfying in itself

Wii MotionPlus took too, too long to come out, and in Resort, it makes all the difference. Fencing, once complete trash in Mario and Sonic Olympics, now makes for a tense fight, and biking and jetskiing now give you the control needed to make for an actual game. The sense of control is vastly improved across the board, and the suite is more complete, making for a better game still held back by its pure concept as a minigame package.
