Play the SNES version, it looks and sounds better and is tragically overlooked in favor of the NES version just because that happened to be the last NES game Nintendo made
The idea of a falling-block puzzler where you navigate a character inside the puzzle area is really bizarre, but I kinda dig it. Also yeah, the SNES version is probably the way to go, though the NES one is far from bad.
