Uplink: Hacker Elite (styled as Uplink) is a 2001 hacking simulation game by Introversion Software. You play as an Uplink Agent, taking jobs from corporations targeting other corporations for credits, used to purchase more tools to make your job easier, all while rising through the Agent rankings. Steal money, modify criminal records, sabotage internal systems, and make sure you don't get caught.
Interface and references to the very far-off year of 2010 aside, this game has held up very well, both its gameplay and plot. Ten+ years ago I wouldn't imagine siding with ARC, but now I think they are probably right.
