Trombone Champ is a sloppy, chaotic rhythm game that somehow ends up being a bit better than the sum of its parts. As the name implies you play a trombone by moving your mouse up or down for pitch adjustment and then pressing a key (any key) to play a note, and hopefully you hit along the lines and curves that the game shoots out at you much like Donkey Konga or the singing gameplay of Rock Band and that kind of thing.
And that's pretty much it! All but one of the included songs featuring a lot of classical and folk song bangers from the public domain are accessible from the get go, and progression is locked behind playing these songs well enough in order to get currency to pull for packs of trombone trivia cards that give insight into how many hot dogs various great tromboners of history probably could eat in a single sitting. You also might accidentally summon a demon or two and form a pack with them but honestly who hasn't in their crusade to be the best there ever was at tromboning?
That said, a lot of the staying power really is dependent on how funny you find the game and the extended joke of messing around with playing music badly, though it's also short enough to do everything it doesn't really overstay its welcome and might be something fun to come back to every once in a while for toots and giggles. If after you look up a gameplay video or two and you don't really get it, or are expecting a rhythm game with tight inputs and feedback, then you won't have fun here. If you have the humor of a middle-schooler and just want to have a silly and non-intensive time, this might be the one for you.

lmao this looks hilarious. But only for each person to play for a few minutes and then you'll likely never play again. Should sell it for less than $15...
