Title
An improvement across the board on its predecessor, Top Gear Rally 2 is perhaps as close to rally as the N64 got, albeit still a far cry from its PlayStation competition. Whilst I'd still call this an arcade racer due to its unrealistic handling, the tracks and vehicles are far more convincing, there's now a co-driver and you now race against the clock instead of your opponents on the track. The game takes other sim influences from the likes of Gran Turismo, such as a robust damage system and licence tests. It still toes the line between arcade and sim too much to come close to touching the Colin McRae series, but it's fun enough to play.
