Title
I don't think Tonic Trouble is as bad as the scathing criticism it got on release suggests, but it certainly pales in comparison to the console's better platformers and collectathons. Gameplay is repetitive, requiring you to collect six of various items in each area, and level design is bland and uninspired to the point that even navigating the hub is somewhat difficult. Ed's moveset is very limited, with new abilities like his peashooter and ability to swim underwater dished out incredibly slowly, and combat is so boring that it feels like a chore.

    Such a fun game, man these weird platformers from the late nineties/early 00's like Ty, Gex and Croc where such a lucid fever dream.
