It's strange how this is the only expansion pack from the series to have a separate page on this site, I guess the first two expansions were considered too lacking in content to warrant their own entries whereas this certainly wasn't due to how much it has to offer.
Much like golden mask, this is a collection of the best moments from the main game it’s based on, every enemy has an equivalent here from the animals to the vast human line-up even if you don't immediately realise who correlates to what (Scottish highlanders are this games equivalent of the pacific islanders to give you an idea what I'm talking about.) Many of the main games mechanics are accounted for here as well from the quad bike (thankfully the only returning vehicle) the train system from Aldwych, monkeys stealing key items in the levels, and even one of the boss battles as one of them managed to survive their last encounter with Lara that I won't reveal here due to spoilers. This does lead me to my biggest complaint as there's nothing innovative about this expansion aside from how beautiful the landscapes are, seriously Scotland, Paris and the ocean between England and France are to die for visually and rival that of the locations in tr4 in terms of graphical excellence. Aside from that however, there's nothing here that you can't experience in the main game as the story is beyond nonsensical (what little of it there is) and the campaign is considerably easier than in the main game likely due to criticisms that it received back in the day.
It's definitely a game that fans of the series would love and one that only just now came out of obscurity thanks to the remastered trilogy making it available for the first time in nearly a quarter of a century, however for newcomers, I only recommend this if the main game is kicking your ass too much and want to see its formula at a leisurely pace.
