For the past 3 months, The Division has been my comfort game. The core mechanics (like movement and shooting) are well done, the game's presentation is great, and the post-apocalyptic pre-Christmas New York setting is quite unique and beautiful. However, the game is overly bloated, the writing and narrative design are obnoxious, and most of the post-release content is pointless and relies heavily on multiplayer and grinding. Some of the DLC content is practically inaccessible due to the lack of players online. So while I enjoyed my time with The Division, the game always found ways to annoy me. And finally, the game (even its solo component) is ultimately doomed to be shut down due to its "always-online" nature. And seeing all the hard work of The Division's developers in the future be inaccessible and eventually forgotten is quite painful.

Linking When you mention an album, artist, film, game, label, etc - it's recommended to link to the item the first time you mention it. Doing so will make it easier to search for your post and give it more visibility. To link an item, use the search box above, or find the shortcut that appears on the page that you want to link. You can customize the link name of shortcuts by using the format [Artist12345,Custom Name].

One of the wild instances where the demo/limited beta was far better than the finished product. I remember feeling the solidarity of being with strangers and friends in the PvE areas, and heightened awareness of randoms in the PvP area that made my friends and I really act as a unit. That was such a fun experience. And then the game came out and somehow had none of those feelings. I also don't really remember every other enemy being a bullet sponge in the beta, but that may be me.
