The Path

The path is a weird one, a really weird one. And like most weird titles, the reception to it vastly depends on what you are expecting of it. I have seen it in both GOTY lists as well as worst of all times lists. Lets just be cleared about something, this is a walking simulation that focuses on atmosphere and exploration above anything else. I doubt that this will be the game that will sell someone on walking sims, as its has a few too many flaws, but its definitly a game i would recommend to fans of the genre.

Know you play as all of the red hood sisters, and the objective of the game is to deliver the basket to your grandmothers house. Unfortunatly, you will inevitably get lost in the forest. There you must find the interactible object that is specific to each sister, and doing so will reset you back on your jorney. The interaction will largely depend on the personality of the sister, and their worst fears. Though its not graphically violent, its a game that symbolically refers to a lot of heavy subjects. The soundtrack is pretty suberb in creating the dense atmosphere of the game. Visually its servicable, but the blurry forest can be an eyesore at times.

Despite the game doing a lot of right things in the setting, the gameplay is unfortunatly very repetitive. YOu have to go through the whole thing with each sisters, and you feel like you are retreading the same old ground. And i cant say it was even worth it for the ending.
