*After playing endless Jackbox games with my roomies throughout the pandemic, some games over discord, and introducing my family to the series as something to do over the holidays, I feel it's time I review each party pack. I plan on reviewing each party pack, so make sure to check my thoughts on the other games if you're looking for what party pack to try next. I don't rate these games the same as I would a video game because they play closer to board games*
This part pack is an interesting one because while it contains 2 of Jackbox's all time best game's, it also contains what is the absolute worst.
To start off on a high note, patently stupid might be the best Jackbox game (or at least top 5). As long as your group isn't braindead "card's against humanity is my favorite card game" types, then it's insanely replayable because the answers never feel the same. My only complaint is the small one that it even gives you the option for it to present for you because it's absolutely no fun that way.
Another classic here is mad verse city, which is great because it forces players to write rhymes within tricky limitations. It's pretty clever and can lead to some hype moments when someone has an insane diss.
Split the room is a very typical Jackbox game and is usually fun for one through that night and then the game is switched. The strategy of this game is pretty clever but weirdly enough the game doesn't feel long enough to warrant the strategy.
You don't know jack returns in probably it's best variation, if quirky trivia is what you want for the night, you'll enjoy it here.
Finally, we get to without a doubt the worst Jackbox game. I begin all these reviews with a blurb about how I rate these differently then regular games on this site because they play closer to board games. Zeeple dome is the exception to this rule and prove that the Jackbox devs are far from game devs. There are multiple problems with Zeeple dome. The delay between your actions and what happens on screen is unsatisfying. The game itself is blandly simple and its cooperative nature takes away from what makes Jackbox so fun. Ultimately, it's a horrible game and I'd be hard pressed to even argue another game comes close to how bad this one is.
This pack is definitely worth it, but if you're looking for bang for your buck you've got two just ok games and one horrible one so grab most other packs first.
