In the midst of Japan's Meiji period, aspiring lawyer Ryunosuke Naruhodo takes on a series of complex cases, striving to establish his legal career. This journey takes him from Japan to Britain, where he must adapt to a foreign legal system and face a series of formidable opponents in court. Each case presents a web of intrigue and deception, calling upon Ryunosuke's deductive reasoning to uncover the truth and defend his clients.
See I told y'all it would lead up to something great. This one really pulled out all of the stops narratively, I seriously could not predict what was going to happen, especially on that last case. Which honestly I felt like was it's downfall sometimes, but whatever I'm getting picky this kicks ASS! I love the new music additions, the new characters and settings, the cases are superb, and it's just such a blast. It has it's flaws that somewhat carry over from the first game but it doesn't take away from the experience nearly as much, and this is finally another amazing AA game that fans can (and have been) drooling over. Fuuuck I wish there was more, this Meiji period universe is so sick for this series and I want more so bad

The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve is a game I expected to like. But I didn't expect it to be my favorite game in the Ace Attorney franchise. It is one of the few games in the series... Or really in general for that matter that has left me screaming in excitement and pacing in my room, unable to sit still.
One thing that is noticeable about this game is that there is little to nothing new in this game. It literally plays exactly like the first game. There are zero new features added. So I won't be talking about them. The link to my review of the first game should give you a rundown. In most games, I'd take issue with this. But not here. This may be just more of The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures in terms of gameplay, but it makes up for in its AMAZING Story.
Taking place 4 months after the first game, Ryunosuke Naruhodo is continuing his quest to be a successful lawyer in London. However, he runs straight into a case that hasn't truly been solved for more than a decade. Ryunosuke and his friends will fight to solve this case while learning about the true reason they even went to London in the first place.
The plot has so many twists and turns. I can say for sure that I was screaming, and pacing in my room because of this plot. It was that good. TRULY the best part of the game. I've never been so engaged in a game in forever. It was a breathtaking experience with an extremely satisfying ending.
And my god, the music just hits different this time. A lot of the tracks in this game (with a few exceptions) were in the first game. But they seem to be used so much better in this game and I absolutely loved it.
And if isn't obvious, the cases are way better than the first one. The comedy is great too. Laughed a lot. This game is just really good at evoking emotion. Don't really know how to describe it. The pacing isn't the greatest. But I was able to put that aside and just enjoy it.
The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve is truly the best Ace Attorney game yet and I don't think even the Apollo games can trump it. It was one of my most memorable experiences with a game in years. I loved every second of it.

Probably the best writing in any video game ever made.

are we ever going to get a 3rd, i know this game wrapped great ace attorney up just fine but i really would like to see it keep going. I wonder what Shu Takumi is doing nowadays.
i don't understand how anyone can say this game is "peak fiction" when the answer of whether or not killing evil, corrupted people in the name of justice when they would otherwise escape scot-free and do it again after the courts have deemed them innocent, and furthermore, that these killings need to be kept from the public or else their revelations would completely destroy the foundations of justice in the country that it had been building up to that point... is "the queen of england said no".
they really could have sold the queen thing better too. Like if she was a witness in disguise the whole time or something. Her just radioing in was too lame...
