Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time

I’m not sure if this didn’t have the turtle name and brand if it could have stood up on its own. That will forever remain a mystery because it did have the name, you could play as your favorite ninja turtle and it does have you traveling into a 2020 with no Covid and sweet hoverboards. The action is fun, the graphics were great and the levels were memorable. It falls into some cheap parts like a lot of games back then, but even a newcomer can find enjoyment in it. It’s not the best brawler around, but it’s good enough to give some substance to the fun characters and colorful art style. I still have to play hyperstone heist, but I don’t see it surpassing this one.

Turtles in time is a 2d beat em up where you play as the 4 famous NY turtles. It has decent animations and control, and there are a ton of enemies for you to defeat. The amount of moves you can use is pretty limited, and you will mash a lot in this game. That said, throwing the enemies towards the screen hardly gets old after the 100 time you have done it. It obeys the cliches of the genre, giving the player food and momentary powerups through the level to get them through and challenging with an end boss. I found the bosses pretty challenging in this game, they soak up a lot of damage. Lots of varied stages as well. Im not too found of the surfing levels, but they change up the pace of the game a bit. I love that enemies explode when defeated.

My main issue with is that it feels like it was balance for coop play. Apart from that, its a pretty solid title.
