Super Mario Sunshine

Insanely fun but there are some parts in this game that are so terrible that it's baffling they put it in a children's video game. Getting Yoshi onto those stupid fucking slow ass boats so you can get to the lily pad pipe on the island was frustratingly inane. Even worse is that the lily pad segment is probably one of the worst things I've ever had to endure in a video game.
Then, if you run out of lives, you gotta put yoshi back on those stupid fucking slow ass boats so he can destroy the yellow foam blocking the pipe so you can go back to playing the worst level ever made all over again!

Maybe I'm a masochist because even with all of the garbage here I still kind of love this game.

i wanted to like this so much more

A lot of the more infuriating stages have steep learning curves, but most of the time they are fair and you can certainly master them. Even the Pachinko, despite the glitches, is basically a timing challenge of when to start and let go of the hover. The actual worst part is hearing that horrible game over jingle that basically mocks you, who thought anyone wanted to hear that over and over?

This is probably my most nostalgic game. I don't think I played anything on my GameCube as much as this game. From getting it on Christmas in 2003 to watching early 2010s let's players complete it, to 100%ing it for the first time in 2018 and all the years in between. Despite it's flaws, I don't think it'll ever leave my top 3.

i was dreading the pachinko stage leading up to it but i got lucky and beat it in my first try lol

The only 3d mario I have not played/beat yet. Wanted to get a GameCube for this and other games but their so damn expensive rn

Honestly very worth playing just because of the awesome moveset and controls. However, there's so many shit design decisions on this... I wonder if they were under the influence while making some of the levels.
