    What a joke of a tutorial. Just throws you into a game with such depth and by the time you're done reading the tutorials and figuring out what you're even supposed to do, you're already getting destroyed by someone else.

    Huge disappointment for me, species creation, interactions and exploration is really captivating but becomes utterly lifeless by the middle game and endgame is you just die or become too powerful

    It definitely shines at the early parts of the 4X experience and can be a slog by the end of it, but this is still the clear best combination of 4x and grand strategy games out there

    It's my most played game (1500hrs over the last 5 years, which I know is rookie levels) and it feels like it's evolved through 2-3 different games.

      Yeah It’s been around 4 or 5 entirely different games over its lifetime. Kind of shows the difficulty of a website like this compared to music or film.

      Ratings for this game from years ago were rating essentially an entirely different game

    How to even rate this...? It's a completely different game from the release version, and keeps changing.

    ...I liked the original versions, but in the current one all the fun has been sapped out of my playstyles.
