You'd think this game would be more action packed than its predecessors, alas you'd be wrong as it appears Lucas arts wanted to recreate the success of the lord of the rings games with this entry rather than transfer the gameplay from battlefront or Jedi academy into this entry in the prequel trilogy game tie ins.
The best way I could describe this game is if the force unleashed was half baked and followed the story of revenge of the Sith. It has the same combat system as that game only much more primitive and with there being more than one playable character as just as the film, the campaign switches between Obi wan and Anakin depending on the situation that's playing out. One positive I have here is that it includes many of the deleted concepts from the film much like the game tie in for the phantom menace, this includes several fights Anakin has with the jedi who resisted order 66 as well as additional environments both protagonists visit that didn't appear in the film. As the game largely follows the events of the film, this unfortunately means that the story is lacklustre given how it hinges on Anakin getting tricked by Palpatine due to an image he has of Padme dying at childbirth (I won't go into how this film ruined the extended universe long before Disney got their hands on it but suffice to say, the franchise was messed up long before Rey Skywalker was ever a thing.)
I guess I appreciate this game for being the stepping stone for the force unleashed in the gameplay department, I just wish there was a more compelling story that went along with this rather simplistic beta concept of that game even if said story went in a batshit direction like its sequel did.

Episode III was my favorite Star Wars movie for some time, I was obsessed with it when it first came out, well until I grew up and realized the sequels weren't that good, but of course many games came with the movie to cash in, with this game being the official movie tie in game. You pretty much play through the big events from the movie as both Anakin and Obi-Wan and it sort of plays like a poor man's hack n slash. Its not horrible, but it feels a bit clunky and awkward, the duels mostly come down to button mashing and the force powers in this feel limited and almost like wasted potential. Now don't get me wrong, this game is playable and a lot better than it could have been, but compared to other games like Force Awakens or the Battlefront series and this just feels like wasted potential. I'll admit though, there is one kind of cool thing in this game, and that's if you play the final duel with Anakin and beat Obi-Wan they give you an alternate ending where Anakin kills Obi-Wan and then when the emperor greets him he betrays and murders the emperor to become the new sith lord. But yeah everything about the game is forgettable and basically almost plays like a poor man's Devil May Cry except with worse graphics.
