And you though the film was bad, at least it can be salvaged were you to trim certain aspects about it (namely everything to do with the Gungan’s and the politics on Coruscant) the same can't be said for the game adaptation as it has too many things fundamentally wrong with it to be worth salvaging.
Let's get the most consistent problem out of the way, this game looks hideous as there's points where I can't even tell what I'm looking at due to how poor the game models are especially with character models. It doesn't help that it's largely a top-down platformer that only occasionally moves the camera to be a more conventional 3d platformer during the campaign, this of course makes platforming a real challenge given how depth perception is very hard to grasp in these maps. The force powers also such as the lightsabre works more like a typical sword than it does in the films and the force push is just gust of wind that only works in the direction Obi wan or quigon is facing in. Padme and panaka’s stages aren't any better as they both have a somehow more restrictive move set compared to the jedi, Padme in particular being egregious given how one of her levels is an Obi wan level that's played in reverse, meaning she can't access some of the areas he can which limits exploration (not that you'd want to explore these poorly rendered levels.) The voice acting is just abysmal, I understand they couldn't get the actors from the film to reprise their roles given how this was made by Lucas arts who usually have their own staff to fill in these roles, however they could've done a better job in replicating the big name actors given how the acting was one of the films saving graces. The worst offenders here are the droids, several of the npcs and Anakin, the latter making Jake Lloyd seem like Hayley Joel Osment in the sixth sense with how bad his turn was.
Normally I would wrap up my review here, however I have to dedicate a section to the mos espa levels as they see quite possibly the worst stages I've ever played based on conception rather than execution. Despite this, these levels are the only reason why I'm not giving this game a 1/5 as they are so poorly conceived that there's a ton of ironic enjoyment to be had with them and as such, stages I played way too often when I was a kid. I feel like there was meant to be a good path and evil path in this game as a recurring theme it has is the ability to kill innocent civilians without much consequence to the story. Sure you'll get chastised for it here and there and can even make the otoh gunga stage more interesting as the guards attack you for killing its civilians, however only in the first mos espa stage do you get any true consequences for killing civilians (which you can overcome due to a save glitch) where Anakin refuses to help you if you gather his pod racing parts by killing those who have them rather than trading for them like the game wants you to. The funny thing is that not only can you pick up these parts upon killing these people, but there's also a ton of dialogue in the mos espa levels dedicated specifically to killing innocent civilians (made much better from rather convincing performances from the npcs voice actors) as well as a rather innocuous mechanic where everyone will chastise quigon for smelling like shit after he walked over a pile of dung worms from a merchant that otherwise has no other purpose in the level. The best part is that only certain npcs will react to you killing people as most civilians will talk to you regardless of your actions in this stage, making for hilarious playthroughs of quigon slaughtering all of the towns people and exploiting a glitch where Anakin will still talk to you even though you killed everybody prior to meeting him. My personal favourite moment is when you kill Jabba the hut in the following level, more specifically how Padme will randomly commit suicide off screen moments after doing so, suggesting there was meant to be a penalty for killing him they forgot to implement and instead had it so that Padme dies instead.
This game is a disaster, but it's at least an entertaining disaster even outside of the mos espa levels. From bad voice acting to clear cut content, it's a rare misstep from pre-Disney Lucasfilm that I recommend purely for ironic value.

This is a 3rd person action game that tied in with the release of the movie. Played it a lot as a kid, taking off the nostalgia goggles for this review.
4 playable characters (Obi Wan/Qui Gon/Captain Pakana (who?)/Queen Amidala), guns and lightsabers, mostly linear levels except for two in the middle on Tatooine. The level design is fairly forgettable, some levels are downright annoying (in particular, level 5 is a tedious escort mission). Fairly buggy and has some hilariously bad voice acting.
There's not a lot of reasons to go back and play this game. The controls were clunky at the time, and they have aged even worse. In particular, there is no vertical movement of the camera, only horizontal and the camera location is set depending on the area you are in. The lightsaber combat is also a bit of a joke.
But still, I boot it up now and then and play through it. The Tatooine levels are very fun, especially the first one. And of course, as with the movie itself, the music is great.
